Cost of Goods Sold in ERPNext: Using the Landed Cost Voucher

by karani

In my latest video, I dive into how ERPNext simplifies the calculation of the actual Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) using the Landed Cost Voucher feature. COGS is a critical figure for businesses, and accurately capturing it involves more than just the price of the goods. With ERPNext, you can easily add additional costs like Freight Charges, Taxes, Insurance and more to arrive at the true cost.

For this tutorial, I demonstrated how to include freight and tax expenses as part of the product cost. You can tailor this further by adding other costs such as insurance or handling fees, ensuring that your cost of goods sold reflects every expense involved in acquiring the goods. The result is a clear, complete COGS figure that can drive better decision-making in your business.
